FAREWELL, SUMMER.

My boyfriend left Vancouver three weeks ago and has been living in a hostel on the East Coast. He calls me (almost) every night, and together we count down the days until I move all my shit over there, too. He found us a sweet apartment that's ready for us in October, and we are absolutely over the moon about this place. Over the telephone, we've discussed colour palettes for each room. His background is in art, and mine is in design, but one of us definitely paid zero attention in our colour theories course. It's pretty hilarious.

I'm really excited to explore a different city and make it my new home. Up until two months ago, I was running the same hamster wheel for five years. Since the end of high school, I've worked part-time and full-time jobs while having my slice of a college education. I never had endless days off to do whatever the fuck I wanted. Not until this summer, at least. And it has been both a blessing and a curse since I left my job. Being unemployed has afforded me the freedom to make up my day as it comes, and instead of saying no to social invitations that would normally conflict with work scheduling, I can now say yes. However, unemployment has transformed me into a complete sloth. Beach bum? Right here. I haven't touched any of the creative projects I had set out to accomplish.

Anyway, my point was, I'm stoked about parking my ass over by the Atlantic and trying new things. And strangely, I look forward to the bone-chilling winters. Shaun started school this week, enrolled in a fancy-pants sculpture program, and he's super optimistic about it. He tells me I will love it there. I'll have a new job and hopefully some classes to look forward to in the spring time, plus some lobsters to eat in between. OH. HECK. YES.
