TOFINO & CAMPING & THE MCCORDS!

I got home late last night after going for a mid-week camping trip with the McCords and their dog, Jigsaw. We left Vancouver just after 4am, took a ferry to Nanaimo, made a quick stop for breakfast in Port Alberni, then drove up to Sproat Lake to find a spot to camp. After we set up our tents, we drove the remaining hour and a bit to Combers Beach where we spent the afternoon frolicking around. By 5 o'clock we were starving again, so we sought out the best burrito stand we could find in Tofino, and damn, it was GOOD. Filled up on food, drove back to Sproat Lake, and basically tucked ourselves in and fell asleep by 9pm. Next day, we hit up Incinerator Rock for some swimming, then grabbed a patio lunch at Shelter in Tofino, checked out an art gallery, then basically hit the road again for the 4-hour drive back to Nanaimo. Holy moly, it was a good time.

Sam & Jigsaw at Combers Beach just before noon. Loved the fog.

Shaun started a beach installation with a log and some kelp.

Bright and early the next morning, still wiped out..

Facing the chilly waters head on with his Baywatch shorts on.
